Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: Lovely welcome from excellent reception staff. I had a problem with my room, left it rather late in the evening to report but the response was instantaneous. All my things were moved to a lovely room (106) overlooking the canal at the back of the hotel which was perfect. The breakfast is outstanding, even when you don’t eat eggs or meat for breakfast the choice is excellent and the home-made bread is phenomenal. We had dinner as well and that was Michelin level. They had a brilliant chef in the kitchen when we were there.

Negative: There was a maintenance and cleaning issue with my first room but as previously mentioned reception was brilliant and resolved it immediately.

Summary: A beautiful hôtel with fantastic cuisine and first class reception .
